At Straight Smiles, we’ve been helping residents of the Okanagan Valley get confident smiles for nearly four decades. Dr. James Scramstad’s father, Dr. Don Scramstad, was one of the “original six” dentists in Kelowna. In 1981, he opened Straight Smiles and James eventually followed in his footsteps. The father-son duo worked side by side for more than 15 years until Dr. Don retired in 2012.
Now, Dr. James Scramstad continues to offer the same exceptional, trusted care as a general dentist practicing orthodontics only. He has invested in the latest technology, including the iTero® digital scanner, Invisalign, 3D printing and Propel® in order to give his patients the best possible outcomes. These advances also ensure visits are comfortable and streamlined, so you can spend less time in his chair.

Dr. James Scramstad
Dr. James Scramstad offers comprehensive orthodontic care for patients of all ages with a focus on advanced technology and outstanding customer service. His treatment philosophy centers on creating beautiful smiles with harmonious facial relationships for the ideal balance of function and aesthetics.
Dr. Scramstad’s father, Dr. Don Scramstad, started Straight Smiles here in Kelowna back in 1981 and spent 30 years straightening smiles in the Okanagan Valley before retiring. James wanted to continue the family tradition and joined the practice after receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in 1996. Now, he’s a General Practitioner dentist offering orthodontics only.
